Situated approximately 30 km from the city of Johannesburg, resting on the western city limits, and forming part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality – is the industrial and commercial hub of Kempton Park. Home to the OR Thambo International Airport, Kempton Park spans around 149.05 km2 and is located south of Thembisa, one of the largest South African townships.
